We would like to welcome back a cottage on the island of Luing, near Oban, ‘No 27 Toberonochy’ after a short break from holiday lets to do some remedial work. This charming little cottage has been proving very popular with all those who have stayed here, thanks to the thoughtful preparations by the owner.
It is complemented very nicely by a new property on this same island, ‘No 6 Toberonochy’ so if you have a larger family or group of friends wanting to have a break together this is the chance to accommodate up to eight people between these two properties which are just a short walk apart in the village.
Happy New Year to all our customers. We hope the weather will be kind to us in 2012. The next few months are likely to be cold, but the heavy snowfalls of last winter and extreme cold are not likely to be repeated. This is an ideal time to have a short break at very reasonable prices.
We have a Burn’s Supper coming up on 28th January in our little village of St Fillans so if you would like to experience a really friendly village event book Tarken Lodge (Property Ref PE43) and order tickets. All proceeds will go to Help for Heroes and we will donate the proceeds from letting the lodge. Demand for tickets is huge so book now to avoid disappointment.
Many of our properties have log burning stoves to keep you cosy and a romantic break for Valentines day could be just what you need to banish the winter blues.
The mid term break in February is an ideal opportunity for families with children to have a budget holiday. The Gondola at Aonach Mor will take you up to the snowline and you can ski or just relax in the café and enjoy the fabulous view. Roads are quieter for touring and with snow on the mountains the scenery is quite spectacular.
Despite what is continually reported in national weather forecasts as poor weather in Scotland, we do have some perfect days too! This month we have been very busy out and about taking photographs of new properties, which proves the forecasters do get it wrong sometimes —
On 6th November we took photographs of Morvern (property reference AA98) a new property in the village of Kilchoan at the end of the Ardnamurchan peninsula. The most Westerly point of mainland Britain is only a short drive away and the beaches around that area will astound you with their beauty. A ferry leaves regularly from Kilchoan to Tobermory on Mull so you could take a trip as a passenger to go shopping or to visit the dairy which produces wonderful cheese.
Alternatively you could take the car and drive to the other end of the island and visit Iona with its wonderful abbey. Iona is a very special place with an atmosphere that many people feel drawn to time and again once they have made a visit. We do also have a very popular little property for two on the Isle of Mull – Croftlee (property reference AL74).
We always enjoy a trip to the Isle of Luing which is such a friendly island with lovely traditional cottages. We are delighted to be able to offer this traditional cottage, No 6 Toberonochy, which has been brought up to date but still keeps the character of the original cottage (property reference AA29). Anyone with a yacht can use a mooring just opposite the cottage and what a wonderful area they have to explore. These photographs were taken on 12th November.
This picture was taken at our new property Cregganbank (property reference AL22) on 22nd November. With the famous Creggans Inn just along the road it would make an ideal venue for groups at Christmas or New Year. Imagine looking out at that view on New Years Eve with a glass of champagne, or at any time of the year for that matter!
We cannot guarantee good weather but why not take a short break when rentals are low and find out for yourself the joys of seeing snow on the tops of mountains and the sun setting over the water while you are inside by a cosy fire. Check out our Special Offers page, which is updated regularly.
